On Thursday, an unidentified young man was brought to the hospital after falling from the third floor of the University of Ghana’s Jean Nelson Hall.
Before being rushed to the hospital for treatment, he was stated to be bleeding from the head.
This is the second incidence of this type on the University of Ghana’s campus this year, after a previous student collapsed in a similar manner at the Mensah Sarbah Hall.
What caused him to fall is still unknown.
In an interview with campus-based Radio Univers, an eyewitness said she saw the young guy fall from the balcony after an altercation with his friends.
“I saw him coming down from his balcony. He was on the floor by the time I knew he was jumping. I’m not sure what happened in his room to cause him to fall to the floor. We all heard something, but we don’t know what it was,” she explained.
“It was like they were fighting and girls were shouting, so we don’t know if the girl was shouting because of the fight,” another eyewitness said. We’re not sure what happened, but we saw him come down.“
