This is very unfortunate.

2022 BECE: Boy, 14, defecate in the exam room at Barekese after refusal by the invigilator to move out to the toilet. Below is a drafted article by a colleague reporter who leaked the information.

“A 14-year-old candidate sitting for the ongoing 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examinations at Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District had not to option but to defecate in one of the examination rooms yesterday.

The boy, a student of Fufou D/A Junior High School was reportedly declined an earlier call on a supervisor to allow him move out to attend the nature’s call during the examination.

The boy who could not help himself anymore ended up easing himself at the center.

In an exclusive interview with Original Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah, the Unit Committee Chairman for Fofuo Electoral Area, Rockson Ntiamoah, confirmed the incident and described it as worrying.

He accused a tutor of Barekese Senior High School who was part of the supervisors at the center, of denying the boy the chance of going out, with claims that the candidate might have returned to the room with a foreign material.

Family of the student, Original News has learnt, is, preparing to take a legal action against the teacher/supervisor.

Mr. Rockson Ntiamoah has also expressed his commitment to take the matter up”.

Above all, Educate Africa Institute (EAI) describes it as a right infringement and we are calling on the West African Examination Council, Ministry of Education, and Ghana Education Service to apprehend the culprit and prosecute him accordingly. We need not frighten students in the exam hall. Education is not a life and death affair.
