A mini car caught fire on the Newtown Road.
According to an eyewitness, the car was heading towards Newtown all the way from a town called Asenda. There were seven people in the car, including the driver. But God being so good, all of them were able to escape except their luggage and food stuffs, which got burnt.
Talking to them, they said they were attending a funeral service in Newtown.
The driver corroborated his account, stating that the fire started below the steering wheel when he tried starting the car.
The driver and some of the passengers tried to quell the fire, but to no avail. The people in the town also rushed there but could not quell it.
