Following the dismissal of Xisco Munoz, Watford have appointed Claudio Ranieri as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The Italian, who led Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2016, stepped down from his position as Sampdoria manager at the end of last season.
Watford, who are fifteenth in the Premier League with seven points from seven games, fired head coach Munoz on Sunday morning after less than ten months in charge.
Munoz, 41, took over from Vladimir Ivic in December 2020 and guided the club to a planned promotion from the Championship last season.
Munoz’s last game in charge ended in a 1-0 defeat to Leeds at Elm Park.
