Residents of Komenda, in the Central Region’s Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Municipality, are in shock and grief after four youngsters perished while swimming on Saturday.
Kojo Williams, Assembly Member for Komenda Anomako Electoral Area, told Starr News that the youngsters were 11 and 15 years old at the time of the incident.
He said they hurried to the location after hearing about the drowning on Saturday and discovered two dead on the beach. He said they discovered two more deaths on Sunday and submitted the case to the Komenda Police Station for further investigation.
The autopsies and preservation of all four bodies have been submitted to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
A group of 13 teens drowned in the Apam sea a few months ago.
Fishermen in the region are still looking for the body that has sunk to the bottom of the water.
