Liverpool has refused to release footballer Mohamed Salah for World Cup qualifiers next month, according to the Egyptian Football Association, since he would be subjected to a 10-day coronavirus quarantine upon his return to England.
According to reports in the British press, three Brazilian talents, Roberto Firmino, Allison, and Fabinho, will not be allowed to join their national team.

Other European teams are also considering taking similar punishment against players who travel to red-list countries, placing them on a collision path with football’s world governing body.
Last month, Fifa removed an exemption put in place last year in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which permitted clubs to refuse to release players for international duty if travel restrictions were enforced.
